Mentor Terms
Last updated: August 30, 2026
These terms supplement the user policy and apply specifically to you as someone offering sessions.
1. Your role as an independent seller
When you act as a mentor you do so in your own name and for your own account. You are neither an employee nor a contractor of BetweenShift. You set your prices, your availability and the content of your sessions. The engagement covers peer support, not medical assessment or treatment.
2. Payment flow, remuneration and tax
- Direct payment: The user pays you directly via Stripe. BetweenShift never receives the payment.
- Fees: Stripe’s transaction fee is deducted from the transaction, as is BetweenShift’s platform fee of 20 per cent of the session price plus a fixed charge of SEK 3 per completed session. The fee is determined at the time of booking. The platform fee is inclusive of VAT. BetweenShift may change the platform fee. Changes are announced in the app at least 30 days before they take effect and apply only to bookings made thereafter.
- Tax and DAC7: The remuneration is taxable income. Because the platform does not pay out the funds, no preliminary tax is withheld and no employer contributions are paid by BetweenShift. You are personally responsible for declaring the income. BetweenShift is obliged to report your earnings to the Swedish Tax Agency under DAC7.
- Business activity: If your activity becomes a business (or if you pass the VAT threshold) you are yourself responsible for any VAT reporting and for F-tax registration.
3. Delivery, cancellation and disputes
- Right to payment: You are entitled to payment only once the session has been completed. If you do not write a single message in a booked session, no payment is charged.
- Objections (7 days): If a user objects to a session, you communicate through the app. You may choose to refund. If you let the dispute period (72 hours) expire without acting, nothing is refunded from the platform, but the user can escalate to their card issuer (chargeback).
- Chargebacks: A card chargeback is handled by Stripe against your balance, and you bear the cost.
- Exception in case of inactivity: If the user upholds an objection and the app verifies that you have not written a single message of your own, you hereby consent to BetweenShift automatically initiating a full refund from your Stripe account.
4. Ranking, ratings and suspension
Mentors are ranked in the directory primarily on the completeness of the profile and on whether the profile is new, and thereafter randomly. Placement cannot be bought. BetweenShift reserves the right to suspend mentors for breaches of the user terms or for repeated complaints or missed sessions.
After a completed session the user can give you a rating between 1 and 5 and a short written comment. Your average rating and the number of ratings are shown publicly on your profile and on your card in the mentor directory. Only a user who has paid for and completed a session with you can leave a rating, and each session can be rated once. The user can also choose to sort the directory by highest rating, lowest price or highest price instead of the default order described above.
