Delete your BetweenShift account

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This page is for the app BetweenShift by Tayori HB.

You can delete your account directly in the app whenever you want. It can’t be undone.

How to delete your account in the app

  1. Open BetweenShift and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile at the bottom right.
  3. Tap the gear icon at the top right to open Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Danger Zone and tap Delete account.
  5. Read the information, type DELETE in the box and tap Delete my account.
  6. Confirm by tapping Delete my account once more.

Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out. If you have a mentor session that has not ended or is not paid for, an open dispute or a paid session that ended less than seven days ago, you can delete your account only once the session is finished and the time to file a dispute has passed. A failed payment can be completed in the app for 14 days and holds the deletion that long; it is then written off and no longer holds it. The app shows what is holding the deletion and, when it can be known, from which date it is possible. You can cancel sessions that haven’t started right away.

If your membership has ended, you can still reach Delete account: tap Manage account on the membership screen.

If your account is suspended, you can’t sign in. In that case, email [email protected] if you want to delete your account or get a copy of your data.

If you have forgotten your password, reset it first with Forgot password? on the sign in screen.

Delete your account without the app

Email [email protected] from the email address that belongs to your account.

  • Write “Delete my account” in the subject line.
  • Include your BetweenShift username if you remember it.

We delete the account within 30 days after confirming that the request comes from that address. We may ask you to confirm, for example by replying from the same address. We never ask for your password. When the account is deleted, we confirm it by email.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following is removed right away:

  • Your profile: username, profile picture, bio, tags, occupation, workplace, region, years in the profession and work history.
  • Posts and replies you have written, including anonymous ones. If one of them has replies from others, it remains as “This post was deleted”, without text, image or name, so that other people’s replies remain.
  • Messages you have sent, including voice messages and images, in all chats.
  • Your mood check-ins, journal entries and your history.
  • Followers, the people you follow, follow requests, blocks, saved posts and mentors, and your reactions.
  • Ratings you have given, and ratings you have received as a mentor.
  • Your notifications and the link to your devices for push notifications.
  • The record of which terms and consents you have accepted.
  • Feedback you have sent in the app.
  • Your answers and wins in the Weekly quiz and the information about your invitations.
  • If you applied to become a mentor: your application, the application video, and the name and personal identity number used for the licence check.
  • The app’s record of your membership. The subscription itself in the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled, see below.

The card you saved for a booking is removed from the mentor’s account at Stripe.

Uploaded files, such as images, are deleted together with the account. Voice recordings and images in chats are deleted by the following night at the latest.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Payments for mentor sessions: date, amount, fees, Stripe payment references, including cancelled and declined bookings, and what was written in a dispute. Swedish bookkeeping law (bokföringslagen) requires accounting records to be kept. The records are separated from you, and the other party sees “Borttagen användare” (deleted user) instead of your name.
How long: at least 7 years; the records currently have no automatic expiry.
  • The sign-in log: events such as sign-ins, sign-outs and password changes, with your email address, for security and troubleshooting.
How long: 180 days from the event.
  • Records held by RevenueCat: the purchase history of your membership, linked to your user ID.
    How long: currently not deleted.
  • Records held by Stripe and the mentor: payment details held by Stripe and, if you booked a session, by the mentor who received the payment. Stripe and the mentor are responsible for their own records, including their own bookkeeping.
How long: under Stripe’s and the mentor’s own rules.
  • Membership purchases with Apple or Google: Apple and Google are responsible for their own purchases.
How long: Apple and Google keep their own records under their own rules.
  • Shares and replies in Today’s mood: they are removed from view at the next publication time and then deleted by a scheduled cleanup.
How long: until the scheduled cleanup has deleted them. If a reply was reported, a review copy of it may remain, and it is cleared once it is older than 90 days.
  • Reports about you and our log of administrators’ actions: reports other members made about your profile or your messages, without the copy of the message, and the log of actions taken by administrators. Reports of your posts are deleted with the posts. They are kept for security and follow-up, and to handle misuse and legal claims.
How long: no fixed period. Reports currently have no automatic time-based expiry, and the log is kept even after the account has been deleted.
  • Deleted data in backups: backups are overwritten automatically.
How long: at most 30 days.
  • Emails you sent to support: kept so that we can handle your request.
How long: as long as needed to handle the request.
  • Crash reports: kept so that we can find and fix bugs in the app. A crash report is linked to your user ID, but not to your name or email address.
How long: as long as needed to find and fix the bugs.

What others have written is not deleted: messages others sent to you stay in their chats, and if someone mentioned or tagged your username in a post or a message, that text stays. If someone replied to one of your messages, your text and your username remain as a quote in the reply.

Your subscription is not cancelled

Deleting your BetweenShift account does not cancel a subscription you bought in the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it yourself, ideally before you delete your account:

  • iPhone: open Settings on your phone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or open Apple’s subscriptions page.
  • Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or open the subscriptions page in Google Play.

Good to know before you delete

  • Save a copy first. Settings → Account → Export my data gives you a copy of your data, with links to your uploaded files that are valid for seven days. Download the files before you delete your account, because the links stop working when the files are deleted.
  • Founding 100. If you are one of our Founding 100, the benefits go with the account. A new account is not Founding 100.
  • Mentors. You can delete your account only once your sessions have ended and been paid for or written off and the time to file a dispute has passed. If a client has not paid, you can give up the payment: the Delete account page shows the sessions with date and amount, and when they are the only thing holding the deletion you can confirm. The payments are then written off, the clients are told they do not need to pay, and you receive no payment for the sessions. This cannot be undone. Your Stripe account is your own and is not deleted when you delete your BetweenShift account. Withdraw your balance before you delete, or manage it directly with Stripe at dashboard.stripe.com.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

  • Check-ins: delete a single check-in in the calendar in My wellbeing, which requires an active membership and consent for your wellbeing history, or all of them, at any time, under Settings → Privacy and data protection → Delete all check-ins. You can also withdraw your consents there.
  • Posts: tap the three dots on your post and choose Delete. The text is removed right away and the images within two days. If the post has replies, it remains as “This post was deleted”, so that other people’s replies remain.
  • Today’s mood: under Settings → Privacy and data protection → Today’s mood you can stop sharing and delete replies you have sent. The shared copy and the replies to it are deleted when you delete the check-in.
  • Profile details: workplace, region, years in the profession, work history, bio and tags are optional. Tap the pen next to the part of your profile you want to change.
